Since 1992, mummy researchers from around the world gather every 3 to 4 years at the World Congress on Mummy Studies
Río de Janeiro
The Congress will have twenty-one symposia (view Symposia List) including 177 presentations from 127 specialists from 23 different countries. There will be three simultaneous sessions, time will be tight to complete the program, nevertheless we expect to have enough time for social gatherings and events so we can share experiences and consider future collaborations.
The gathering will include mummy experts and students from institutions in Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Denmark, Egypt, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Korea, Mexico, New Zealand, Peru, Poland, Spain, Switzerland, the USA, and the United Kingdom.
English will be the official language of the meeting. We are hoping to be able to provide simultaneous interpretation for a fee in some sessions, this is a matter of covering costs.
